Bali, Day 5
Day 5 of the Bali trip was dedicated to having fun on the Beach .We had to rise rather early for the buffet breakfast included in the package and sorely missed the comfort of room ordered breakfast served till noon ( Nefatari villas had thoroughly spoilt us in this regard !! ) . But with the promise of a fun filled day on the beach ahead of us ,we couldn’t complain for long .
After breakfast , we were soon splashing about in the waters ,hoping to make the most of the Sun . The beach at Sanur is relatively calm and the waves are very gentle in this part of Bali ,making it perfect for children and non swimmers to have fun without much caution . We could easily wade in the water for quite a distance. I tried my hand at some kayaking and was partly successful , thanks to the calm waters . The hotel has constructed a floating sea bed in the middle of the ocean and it was a wonderful feeling to lie in the midst of the vast and endless ocean.
After a few hours of fun and frolic at the beach , we ended up for a late lunch at the Fortune Cookie ,a Chinese restaurant around 500 metres away from the Puri Santrian Hotel . It turned out to be an unpretentious ,neat place with efficient service and really yummy food at reasonable rates .Fresh authentic Chinese food ,with no MSG is the claim and the restaurant lives up to it . Our food consisting of soup,a Chicken Wings kind of starter and some mixed vegetable stir fry was flavorful and just what our growling tummies needed to tuck in .
We had previously decided to hire bikes and explore Sanur town a bit in the evening . However the attraction of the beach and a chance to view the sunset was too hard to resist .So we landed there again to enjoy some coffee and the lovely breeze . Since it was quite cloudy , the sunset wasn’t visible very clearly .We took a long walk along the stretch of the beach and spent time doing some random photography .Then we headed to the room to draw up an itinerary for next day’s tourist activities.
